Mobile Rocket Team Member Completes the Great North Run 2024 in Support of Macmillan Cancer

Yesterday, one of our own at Mobile Rocket laced up their running shoes and took on the Great North Run 2024, completing the iconic half marathon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. It was an incredible day filled with determination, endurance, tears and a powerful cause at its heart.

Kat, our top Digital Designer, signed up for the GNR earlier in the year with her sister. Both having never really run long distance before, decided to set themselves a challenge while helping raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that’s making a real difference for people living with cancer. Through donations, Macmillan provides grants to help cover the extra costs associated with cancer, funds Macmillan Nurses, and supports vital services like the Macmillan Support Line.

Reflecting on the experience, Kat said, “The atmosphere was electric, people were cheering you on every step of the way. It wasn’t easy at all but knowing that every step was helping those in need gave me the strength to just keep pushing through. Cancer affects so many people’s lives and the support Macmillan provides the whole family… you just can’t thank them enough. Right, I’m off for a well earned lay down.”

We couldn’t be prouder of our colleague for taking on this challenge in support of such a vital cause. Donations are still open, and every contribution, no matter the size, helps Macmillan continue its life-changing work. Thank you to everyone who has supported so far!
