14 Year Old Aycliffe Paperboy Becomes a Sales Sensation.

Last week, 14 year old Freddy Herbst embarked on a week long work experience with North East Software Solutions company, Mobile Rocket, which saw him undergoing intense sales coaching with Sales Director, Kevin Ireson.

The final batch of Gen Z are currently embarking on that week-long historic work experience we all endured. Freddy was determined to make his week one to remember.

He might only be 14 but he’s already focused on his career. Freddy said

“I study Engineering and Business studies at school. Business studies became something I really enjoyed and I knew I wanted some experience in this field. My dad works in sales and I think working with a company close to home would give me some skills before going back to school in September.

I love running, I try to hit 5k every morning before I deliver the Newton News which is my local paper so I am used to working hard and I have recently ran two half marathons this past week. But what I felt like I needed was a push to meet new people and get some confidence in a real work environment.”

Sales Director Kevin has been really impressed with the progress Freddy has made in just one week.

“He is a really ambitious lad, the fact he has multiple interests and jobs at such a young age shows he isn’t afraid of hard work. Sales is tough, so I wanted to give him the opportunity to take away really valuable skills he can then build on.

He never shied away from anything I asked him to do, he stood up and presented to a room full of adults, he jumped into networking, connecting with businesses and showed the confidence he was initially looking to gain.

Our sales team have many years of experience in their field and are used to the daily pressures and strategies they must put in place. So to confidently do this at 14 years old after just a few days of training is impressive.”
